MEET OUR TEAM OF EXPERTS
JEFF MOOIJ, PRESIDENT
In 2014 Jeff launched the 420 Clinic, the first licensed medical cannabis clinic in Calgary. Mooij has become a leader in the medical cannabis industry in Western Canada, consulting stakeholders at the municipal, provincial and federal levels.
He is chairman of the Board of Directors for 420 Investments Ltd., which manages three entities: 420 Clinic, 420 Advisory Management and in April of 2018, he launched 420 Premium Market, our recreational brand. Formerly, Mooij was in the hospitality industry for 20 years.
MICHAEL “KATO” TOMIYAMA, CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
Tomiyama has over 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry. His past experience was in consultation and as an operating partner for multiple establishments in the hospitality industry. Tomiyama has over 12 years of retail and sales management experience in the retail and wellness industry and was a liaison to Workers’ Compensation Board (Alberta) for chronic pain clients.
DR. IFE ABIOLA, B.SC, MD, MEDICAL DIRECTOR
Abiola has become a recognized authority in the scientific and medical applications of cannabis, he has consulted and presented for such groups and Alberta Health Services, Peter Lougheed Hospital, Canadian Orthopedic Nurses Association and several other organizations and levels of government.
GARRETT POPADYNETZ, CPA, CA, CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Garrett Popadynetz began his career in the audit and assurance group of PricewaterhouseCoopers, and earned his Chartered Accountant designation. He later moved to be a partner at Arthur O. Solheim LLP and then established his own registered accounting firm. He has been in public practice for the past 12 years, advising private companies on finance, accounting, operation, tax planning and corporate restructuring.
In 2015, Garrett started working in the cannabis industry as a consultant for 420 Clinic. After assisting the company with corporate restructuring and building financial and business processes, he joined the company in an official capacity in 2017 as the Chief Financial Officer.
RYAN KAYE, VICE PRESIDENT OF OPERATIONS
Kaye’s career includes over 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry. His responsibilities have spanned several key aspects of the industry, including retail sales, management and product distribution. He spent six years with Wild Rose Brewery, playing a key role in the company’s extensive growth over that period. He has a great deal of experience in dealings with the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission (AGLC) and has built strong relationships with this important regulatory organization.
Kaye began with FOUR20 in May 2017, working for our medical resource centre, and transitioned to our retail operations in October of 2017. In his current role with FOUR20, Kaye oversees our retail expansion, optimizing in-store operations and assisting with talent acquisition and employee training.
TODD PRINGLE, VICE PRESIDENT OF PROJECTS
Pringle’s career includes over 20 years of professional experience in Sales, Project Management (PMP), Manufacturing & Logistics Consulting (SAP). His business background spans oil & gas, utilities, pharmaceuticals and food manufacturing domains.
Todd was one of the first founding investors in 420 Premium Markets and joined the team as VP of Projects in 2017. Pringle oversees the sourcing 420 PM retail leases, facilitating the design of the stores and executing location builds in Alberta. Pringle has a passion for THC edibles and CBD topicals and has published articles on this subject. He is also an Ironman triathlete, coach, author of book Project Ironman.
AUDREY SLACK, CEC, CPHR, VICE PRESIDENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES
Slack is a Human Resources professional with over 25 years of experience in the field. Working in HR, Slack has facilitated her diverse ability to build meaningful, long-term relationships with people from all backgrounds. In 2011, she decided to elevate her coaching skills and launched her own consulting company as an executive coach for senior leaders. Audrey began her career in the healthcare industry, specifically nutrition, which she believes medicinal cannabis is an extension of and likens it to “coming back home”.
Audrey joined the Four20 team in April of 2018. Slack works to support the growth and development of FOUR20 through keen people planning; incorporating recruitment, employee engagement, onboarding and training, performance management, diversity, and inclusion.
AMBER CRAIG, VICE PRESIDENT OF MARKETING
Amber Craig started working with 420 Clinic in 2013, as a marketing consultant, helping build the brand and execute marketing strategies. In September 2017, Craig joined the company full-time as the Vice President of Marketing.
Craig has over 15 years of experience in the media and journalism industry, with an extensive editorial portfolio spanning two decades. In 2007, she transitioned into the marketing side of media with a position at the Calgary Real Estate Board in Media Services. Upon leaving that position, Craig stepped into entrepreneurship and launched a marketing company. She is also the Co-Founder of an Alberta-based non-profit.
CRYSTAL GOODING, PRODUCTS SPECIALIST
Crystal’s career includes over 20 years of combined experience in hospitality, business development, sales and marketing. Crystal realized early on that her ultimate passion was providing exceptional customer experiences and service. Before joining 420 full-time, the last five years of Gooding’s career was spent with Gordon Food Service, finishing her career there as the Produce and Dairy Specialist. Crystal took pleasure in sourcing, testing and delivering the best up-and-coming and innovative products for chefs and restaurateurs all over southern Alberta and eastern British Columbia, winning a prestigious award for exceptional performance, sales growth and customer service in 2017.
Crystal started to work with the 420 Clinic in 2014, offering free cooking classes to their patients one Saturday per month, teaching how to infuse cannabis into food as an alternative method of cannabis consumption. Crystal was thrilled to join 420 full time at the beginning of 2018.
