#ExploreCanmore and show your FOUR20 pride.

A quick drive and you’re immersed in the mountains, what’s not to love?! It’s no wonder we flock to Canmore, Kananaskis and Banff in the summer. But as we tread further into our province’s relaunch strategy, we need to ensure we are visiting these communities safely and respecting their space. Summer is meant for adventures and the great outdoors, so let’s chat about how you can visit the Bow Valley safely this summer.

PSA: While you’re there, stop in at our Canmore location and say hello!  We want to see how YOU explore the Canmore/Kananaskis/Banff area. Show your FOUR20 pride in the great outdoors.

Now let’s chat about how you can explore Canmore safely:

Main street is only open to pedestrian traffic. Plan your drive accordingly, but for strolling the town, this increases the ability to safely social distance while exploring the shops and restaurants.

Call ahead to make a reservation. With limited capacity, but no shortage of visitors wanting to chow down on some great eats with scenic views, it’s always best to plan ahead. Here are some of our favourite restaurants in Canmore:

Respect Others – Practice physical distancing; try to maintain a two-metre distance between yourself and others. For reference, that is the length of a bike or six Canmore bunnies. If you cannot maintain this distance, a mask will always help.

Showing Support – Most of Canmore’s businesses are family operated and are among the hardest hit in Alberta. Your support in purchasing from these establishments makes a difference and is greatly appreciated.

Come with a backup plan: Chances are you are not the only one who wants to enjoy the Canadian Rockies, so if you arrive at the trailhead and find a full parking lot, continue to your backup hike so you can practice safe social distancing. Hiking options can be found here.
