How we're supporting "Giving Tuesday"

In the spirit of Giving Tuesday, we wanted to share some additional information about our annual holiday donation drive. 

We are extremely excited to be participating in this year’s Market Collective by hosting a donation drive for the Calgary Drop-In Centre! We always want to give back wherever we can and support causes that impact the livelihood of vulnerable communities.

Market Collective is an excellent ally for the cause, as they work tirelessly to connect the Calgary community and support local businesses. The local vendor market is hosted multiple times per year and has grown so much they now host the festivities at the BMO Centre. This year, over the first three weekends in December, they will host over 370 vendors, tons of great musical acts and will have an indoor skatepark! There truly is something for everyone and it provides a great venue to buy local over the holiday season. 

For the clothing drive, the Drop-In Centre has informed us of their high-need items. To support their stocking stuffer program, they are looking for Tim Hortons cards and bus tickets, and the greatest needs of the season are: 

Medical

• Ibuprofen and acetaminophen

• Cough drops and throat lozenges

• Band-aids and other dressings 

Hygiene

• Shaving supplies

• Men’s deodorant

• Toothbrushes/travel toothpaste

Clothing

• Socks

• New underwear

• Steel-toed work boots

Frostbite kit supplies

• Hand/toe warmers

• Chapstick

• Winter gloves/toques

Move out program

• Can openers

• Pots and pans

• Roasters

We will accept any and all donations that support the cause! You can find us by the big, boldly coloured ambulance which we hope to fill with your support.
